Croatia has a very animated history which has resulted in a mix of influences in its heritage. Linguistically, Slavic is the dominant influence while there are traces of its close proximity to the Romance languages. More recently, sections of the country formed part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and evidence of it is still visible in its architecture. Since then it has been controlled by Italians and of course formed one of the republics during the Yugoslav era.

Croatia’s long and uneven coastline is punctuated by islands of notorious beauty. Nature is everywhere and the colours bring together the beautiful landscapes. As green merges into blue, the limit between land and sea is blurred. This makes for a fragmented coast along which the numerous islands corgregate to form some stunning landscapes. You will find lots of sheltered bays of beautiful calm water. If that's not enough to tempt you, the sun and beaches surely will.
